Christmas is upon us
Christmas is upon us
that great season of the year
where people are always smiling
spreading Christmas cheer.
‘tis the season of baby Jesus,
the child that was born in the night
it is Him that we’ve come to worship
and pray to this Holy night.
that child that lay in the manger
in a stable so far away
and yet they came to behold Him
a King, born this day.
the shepherds and the wise men
traveled from near and far
searching for baby Jesus
following the Eastern Star.
there they found Him laying
and they fell on bended knee
to worship baby Jesus
the King who would set them free.
they bore Him gifts of splendour
frankincense, myrrh and gold
gifts for the might King
that the whole world should be told.
and in this spirit of giving
as the wise men did of old
we give our gifts to loved ones
as frankincense, myrrh and gold.
Christmas is upon us
so let us spread that cheer
let’s give the gift of wise men
and make it last throughout the year.
